Introduction
In a world where natural remedies are regaining the spotlight, Turmeric-Ginger Honey—affectionately called “Golden Honey”—stands out as a powerhouse for wellness. This ancient combination harnesses the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric, the digestive benefits of ginger, and the antimicrobial qualities of honey, all enhanced by a pinch of black pepper for better absorption. Whether used to soothe a sore throat, support immunity, or simply enjoy as a flavorful addition to tea, this golden elixir is a must-have in your kitchen.
Ingredients
1 cup raw, organic honey
2 teaspoons ground turmeric (or 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric, grated)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
ÂĽ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Optional:
½ teaspoon cinnamon for added warmth
A few drops of lemon juice for brightness
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients: If using fresh turmeric or ginger, peel and finely grate them.
Combine: In a small bowl, mix honey, turmeric, ginger, and black pepper until well blended.
Rest & Infuse: Transfer the mixture to a clean glass jar. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours to allow flavors to meld and medicinal properties to infuse.
Optional Heat Activation: For enhanced potency, gently warm the mixture in a double boiler for 5–10 minutes, ensuring the temperature does not exceed 104°F (40°C) to preserve honey’s natural enzymes.
Stir & Store: Stir again before each use and seal the jar tightly.
