Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup cooked shredded chicken (or substitute with jackfruit for a vegetarian option)
3 tablespoons cream cheese
2 tablespoons hot sauce or buffalo sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg (for egg wash)
12–16 small olives or sliced olives (for “eyes”)
Optional: food coloring gel (green or red) for added creepiness
Instructions
Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cream cheese, hot sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
Assemble the Bites
Unfold the puff pastry and cut it into small squares (about 2 inches each).
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each square.
Seal the “Bites”
Fold each square into a little pouch or roll it into a ball. Pinch the edges to seal tightly.
Lightly score the tops with a knife to create a “cracked skin” look.
Add the Creepy Details
Brush lightly with egg wash.
Press an olive or olive slice into the top of each bite as a spooky “eye.”
Optional: add a light brush of food coloring for a gooey, infected effect.
Bake
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cool & Serve
Allow them to cool for a couple of minutes before serving—they may bite back if too hot!
Serving and Storage Tips
Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
Pair with ranch, blue cheese dressing, or spicy chili sauce for dipping.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To reheat, pop them in the oven for 5–7 minutes at 350°F to restore their crispness.
