Introduction
Healthy hair doesn’t always come from expensive products. Sometimes, the most effective solutions are already sitting in your kitchen. After struggling with dullness, buildup, and an itchy scalp, I tried a simple overnight apple cider vinegar hair ritual—and the results were surprisingly impressive. This gentle treatment helped restore balance to my scalp, added shine, and left my hair feeling lighter and healthier by morning.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar (with the “mother”)
1 cup filtered water
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel (optional, for moisture)
2–3 drops essential oil (lavender or tea tree, optional)
Spray bottle or applicator bottle
Shower cap or soft towel
Instructions
In a clean bottle, mix the apple cider vinegar and water thoroughly.
Add aloe vera gel and essential oil if using, then shake gently.
Start with dry or slightly damp hair. Part your hair into sections.
Apply the mixture directly to the scalp, lightly massaging it in with your fingertips.
Mist or smooth any remaining mixture through the lengths of your hair.
Cover your hair with a shower cap or wrap it in a towel.
Leave the treatment on overnight.
In the morning, rinse thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water and shampoo if needed.
Serving and Storage Tips
Always dilute apple cider vinegar before use to avoid scalp irritation.
Prepare the mixture fresh before each application for best results.
If needed, the mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours in a sealed container.
