4. Planting
- Place ginger pieces with buds facing upward, about 2–3 inches below the surface.
- Space each piece at least 6 inches apart.
- Gently cover with soil and water lightly to moisten (not soak).
5. Ideal Growing Conditions
- Temperature: Ginger thrives in warm, humid environments (70–85°F / 21–29°C).
- Light: Indirect sunlight or partial shade is best; avoid harsh midday sun. Indoors, place the pot near a bright window.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy. Overwatering causes root rot, while underwatering slows growth.
- Humidity: Mist the leaves occasionally if you live in a dry climate.
6. Caring for Your Ginger Plant
- Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 3–4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
- Mulch with straw or compost to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds if growing outdoors.
- Watch for pests like aphids or spider mites and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap if needed.
