Introduction
For centuries, onions have been valued not only as a kitchen staple but also as a powerful natural ally in traditional wellness practices. While most people discard the outer peel, this humble layer contains concentrated plant compounds that may help support prostate and bladder health. Rich in flavonoids such as quercetin and natural antioxidants, onion and its peel have been traditionally used to promote urinary comfort, reduce inflammation, and support overall male health. This simple preparation highlights how nature’s overlooked layers can become a gentle, natural addition to a wellness-focused lifestyle.
Ingredients
1 medium organic onion (yellow or red preferred)
Peels from the same onion (outer dry layers, washed)
2½ cups clean water
Optional: 1 teaspoon raw honey or lemon juice (for taste)
Instructions
Gently remove the dry outer peels from the onion and rinse them thoroughly to remove any dirt.
Chop the onion into medium-sized pieces, including the inner layers.
Add the onion pieces and peels to a saucepan with the water.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow the mixture to steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain the liquid into a cup, discarding the solids.
Add honey or lemon if desired, and consume warm.
Serving and Storage Tips
Drink 1 cup once daily, preferably in the evening.
For short-term use, consume fresh for best potency.
If needed, store leftover tea in a sealed glass container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
Always reheat gently—do not microwave, as this may degrade beneficial compounds.
